Almost all of my students are remote this semester, and teachers in New York City, like everywhere else, are doing their best to be flexible, creative, and adaptable. Having two monitors will help me navigate my many tabs and screens, while being able to see my students more easily. My Government and Economics course has 34 students, so sharing slides, monitoring the chat, utilizing zoom, and also facilitating spoken conversation all are daily challenges in a virtual classroom. Having two monitors would make these negotiations much more manageable. Especially while seniors are transitioning in so many ways, I am constantly seeking new ways to connect with them and ensure their engagement.
