With the purchase of these sewing machines, my students will have a much easier time learning a valuable life skill. Sewing is a art that many are not learning anymore. These sewing machines have features that will make learning the basics of sewing easier for my inexperienced students. These sewing machines will be used by my many of my students to develop skills that can lead them to future careers and life changing opportunities. The first group to use them will be 8th grade students in my Introduction to Family and Consumer Sciences course. The students will learn basic sewing skills that they can develop into more complex skills in the future course Textile Design, Construction and Maintenance. If nurtured, these students could find their future while finding their love of sewing.
