They are loving 8 & 9 years old African-American students, who are economically disadvantaged. There are 19 students in the class, and 90% of them have experience unforeseen or unimaginable circumstances in their lives. They live and attend school located in a high poverty area. Due to decisions beyond their control, they aren't able to go on wonderful field trips. But, they still try to remain uplifted and keep a positive behavior. With limited resources available, it's becoming difficult for them to compete locally, let alone globally. Many of my students feel no one cares. Their low mentalities and spirits aren't lifted much, because all they have before them are books and paper. I feel that if they are able to view the world through virtual classroom trips, they will be able to overcome obstacles and learning disadvantages. This will help to enable their learning status and brighten their futures.
