I work at a Title 1 school, which means that over 90% of my students receive free and reduced lunch. Most of my students don't have much, but you might never guess it by all the smiles and giggles. They have larger-than-life personalities, tenacity, heart, respect, patience, tolerance, creativity, friendship, camaraderie, and resourcefulness. They aren't perfect by any means, but they are hard workers. I have two classes: both with various needs. My homeroom is an ESE-inclusion room. There are 7 students with varying exceptionalities including: SLD, autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, and social/emotional delays. The majority of my second class consists of students at various ELL (English Language Learner) stages. Though many of these children struggle in more ways than one, they come to school with positive attitudes, a great sense of humor, and they know the importance of giving their best effort. They truly are an outstanding group of kids.
