Most students are used to having technology at their fingertips and can access information easily. My school has one computer lab that serves almost 400 students, which equates to computer access for about an hour a week. My school also has a 50% poverty level, which often correlates to students having limited access to technology outside of school and limited background knowledge and experiences. My students are enthusiastic learners and they more they can see things and gain hands-on experiences, the better they understand the concepts being studied.
