As we all know, the last few years have been TOUGH! What I have found in my role as a school psychologist is that there is a significant increase of mental health struggles within our young community. The students that I serve have a lot of headwinds pushing against them (socioeconomic status, familial stress, learning disabilities, mental health and emotional disabilities, motor disabilities, etc.) and my number one goal is to try to teach them how to combat those headwinds with confidence, develop readily-available coping strategies, and how to prioritize their physical and mental wellness in their own lives.
