Our school is a new adventure in education. We are a charter school for students with learning disabilities. Learning disabilities are neurological disorders that interfere with a person's ability to store, process, or produce information and create a "gap" between ones ability and performance. Individuals with learning disabilities have statistically significant impairments and are generally of average or above average intelligence. Learning Disabilities are not cured and do not go away, but individuals can learn to compensate for and even overcome areas of weakness with the proper training and education. Some common disabilities experienced by our children individually or in combination are: auditory processing disorder, receptive language disorder, expressive language disorder, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, visual perception, memory dysfunction and dyslexia.
