I have high school students ranging in ages from 14 to 18. I currently teach English 9 and AP Literature. Quite a few of my students are English Language Learners and/or receive Special Education services. As a result, I have a wide range of reading levels I try to serve on a daily basis. Having a well-stocked library right in my classroom helps me meet the needs of all my learners. I find that all it takes for a student to build an identity as an independent reader is a single title or author to which they can relate. From that moment on, they begin thriving as readers and learners in general!
