My students range from ages 8 to 11 years old and are in the 3rd, 4th & 5th grade in a Special Setting Classroom. My students are residents of Crown Heights, Brooklyn and their perseverance reflects that! All of my students Have Individualized Education Plans or IEPs and all of them participate in the General Education Curriculum exercised in New York City Public Schools. Many of my students are emergent readers that are working on building their fluency and comprehension skills. My students also have access to a program called Myon.com which helps improve their literacy abilities by allowing them to practice reading and recording their audio via the program. They love when we have access to this!! Students are also able to monitor their Fountas & Pinnell reading levels as they continue to learn on this digital program.
