The materials I have requested will allow my students to be come better readers, writers and communicators. Having high interest, leveled books will allow my students to read and talk about books with their peers. Having multiple copies of books in my classroom will allow my students to choose the books that their club wants to read. Some of my students live in homes were English is very rarely spoken. Book clubs give them a chance to have deep, meaningful conversation with someone other than the teacher. The books that I chose are books that my students have really enjoyed and I know my class this year will love to have the chance to read.
