I work for a large and diverse school district. 63% of students are White, 23% are Hispanic, 6% of students are Black and 4% of students are Asian. Nearly 40% of students qualify for free and reduced lunch. We have wonderful students who, despite a difficult past few years with COVID and the Waukesha Parade tragedy, show up to learn daily. There are students who experience unregulated moments but play-based learning has helped them to learn social and emotional skills and work through problems.
