My students are mostly from low income families and see a lot of violence in their lives. My goal is to show them beauty in the world and to strive for a better life and to know they deserve it. Many are taught that art doesn't matter until they get to me. They are an extremely talented bunch of kids who have a hard time seeing their ability. Many learn how to focus their anger into art instead of bad behaviors. I keep a social classroom and want my students to feel it is a safe place to talk about anything. I love them all.
