Our children at our elementary school are awesome! Many of the visitors who come to our school often comment on how respectful and charming our kids are. They love to learn and create. Often, due to the economic disadvantage they are faced with, they do not get to have the same experiences other children their age enjoy. Our town is a sparsely populated, rural town in Alabama. The median household income here ($26,875) is significantly lower than US average. Our Elementary School is considered high poverty. Until recently this year, our school did not have a computer lab and many classrooms had less than 3 computers. Great strides have been made to enhance our technology situation but we have a long way to go. The vast majority of our students do not have a computer in their homes. The ability to use current technology would greatly enhance their learning.
