I am the librarian in a K-3rd grade elementary school where our students come from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds. I provide story time, teach library skills, and help children find books to take home and enjoy reading. After the children check out their books, they usually have a little time to sit and read before returning to their classroom. They love having a special place to read....a cozy stuffed chair.....a structure such as the log cabin I have right now in the library....or a warm rug to curl up with their book.
