My students attend a Title 1 school and did not receive any funding for art supplies this year. These are terrific kids who enjoy expressing themselves through Visual Arts. Many of them can't afford new clothes each year, so it's very important we get aprons. I'm always reminded when I see a specific kindergarten boy whom wears a white polo shirt with a blue spot around weekly. He is always the first to ask, "Can we paint again!" I'm sure he wouldn't mind a yellow spot on that same shirt either, but I'm hoping that won't happen anymore.
