I teach Universal Preschool at a high need school in Wheeling, WV. My classroom is unique, because we include higher need children who have Autism with their typical peers. This gives me an environment that allows my students Autism to have peers to model many social skills, and allows me the opportunity to expose my typical students to students with different needs. We are able to shape each child's wonderful talents, and help meet their needs in this blended environment. We work hard to find creative ways to challenge all of our students, and to teach them acceptance. Our day is spent meeting complex communication needs, working through a variety of social situations, and learning while we play. I cannot express enough how incredible this classroom dynamic is, and how blessed I am to be their teacher. Your help has allowed us to provide the best learning experiences for all of our little learners.
