I am a Special Education Teacher in the rural town of Elloree, SC. My school is a Title I school with 95% of students qualifying for free or reduced-rate lunch. At present, I have a caseload of 11 students in Kindergarten - 5th Grade. I teach students with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Developmental Delay, and Other Health Impairments. Most of my students have ADHD and students with Autism have sensory needs. Each of my students’ needs differs depending on their disability, socioeconomic factors, individual learning history, personal experiences, etc. My students show a great amount of enthusiasm for learning even when they have challenges in and around them. Their excitement for learning is exhibited daily in my classroom. Seeing my students continue to grow in their learning is amazing! I truly love each and every one of them. I feel very blessed to have them in my life.
