I have 60 students from various backgrounds. Since covid I have noticed the delay of learning. I chose to use historical books to teach both history, reading, writing, comprehension and found an increase in the student's desire to read and are extremely interested in past history as well as current events. This is found equally in both boys and girls. My students have excelled in their reading and writing because of their desire to learn history. They find it more interesting and wish we had more books to read. The books we have are ones that I have purchased but definitely could use a lot more.
