My 8th grade Social Studies students have the opportunity to interview veterans and write the veterans' stories. The interviews are recorded and archived with the Library of Congress. The written stories are published in a book. Whether interviewing a family member or someone outside of their family, the student learns so much from the veteran. Students have very positive feedback about their experiences.
