My students come from very diverse backgrounds. Many students are from working class families. Many of my students enter kindergarten knowing very few, if any, letters or sounds. Our school is a building where all of the district's kindergarten and preschool classrooms are housed. Our building is implementing our first year of full day kindergarten for all students. Because many local districts do not offer full day kindergarten, our class sizes have exploded to 27-29 students.
