Help our library in our endeavor to create a state-of-the-art, potentially life changing MakerSpace where our middle school students can gather to imagine, explore and invent. Students at our school come from economically disparate backgrounds. Our library endeavors to help level the playing field by actively engaging our students in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education and learning how all things relate to each other, in school and in life. Our current MakerSpace is really just beginning to soar! Students are coming to the library to create with donated Legos, magnetic building tiles, and some used art supplies such as markers, crayons, coloring pencils, tape, glue, scissors, coloring sheets, and drawing paper. Helping us give our students the LittleBits Student Sets will elevate the space to one where true learning can begin. STEAM education helps students understand relationships in ways that help them become flexible, responsible, and connected to the world around them. Our middle grade students are at the age where they are beginning to take a less concentric world view. It is our hope that we can help guide them in their search for meaning and inter-connectedness through play and learning, at the same time!
