Applied 'shop' classes used to be the norm; but due to shifting priorities and funding, they are tragically less common in today's schools. My students are very fortunate to be one group who does have the option to take a hands-on electronics class where they can learn to use tools and instruments to build challenging projects. Unfortunately, the budget now only allows for half as many projects as it used to. My students are inspired and challenged by projects that bring electronics concepts to life in their hands. The a-ha moment that comes after the perseverance is absolutely priceless. Please help us to add radio soldering kits to the course this year, to connect the students to more of what they are learning.
