Students will practice their reading and comprehension skills in an innovative way through the use of novel study activities to help them engage more with the novel. While practicing their fluency, reading skills and strategies they will also engage with diverse social justice topics through discussions, writing and collaboration. Students will be delighted when they read an actual novel instead of a story from an anthology. My students will continue to develop a love of rich literature and this will help them to search for more literature that they can enjoy. I'd like my students to become life-long readers.

About my class
