My students are given opportunities daily to engage with block play which helps develop MANY areas of their learning and growth. I was very fortunate 11 years ago to have a teacher hand down a small tub of building blocks to start my classroom with. Over time I have watched my students become builders, architects, masters of balance and scale, creators, designers.... I have watched them develop empathy, compassion, leadership, collaboration, decision making, problem solving and more. Unfortunately, I have also watched my already handed down set become less. I toss broken and splintered pieces away more often than not and will soon not be able to provide this amazing learning experience for them. The requested exploration set, blocks, and storage cabinet will help my students continue building and learning. Blocks might not sound like much but they can do MUCH when given the opportunity!
