For my grade 7 and grade 8 students, they are sharing calculators. We use calculators everyday, but many students do not get to actually push the numbers to the calculator. They see their friends do the work. My hope is to put a calculator in the hands of each student in my math class. Next week we are working on square root problems. The students will each need to learn how the calculator can be used to find the answers to the 1,000ths place. Calculators do more than just add.
