Do you remember being in school reading books about or written by, diverse members of society? Were you able to see yourself reflected in the book you read? This is what I would like to provide for my students. I want my students to be able to feel understood. Students deserve to be represented in the books we provide at school. Books have the power to change our self-image and to change how we see the world. Books allow students the opportunity to gain perspective and maybe, to make it better.
