I wish to expose my students to the enriched vocabulary and higher-level thinking skills that quality picture books have to offer. Each week, we will dive into a specific topic using the picture book as our guide. This particular set lends itself to quality discussions that center around race and gender relations, socioeconomic status, and historical figures. With the generous donations of others, I will be able to expose my students to quality literature and illustrations that will expand their vocabulary and literary knowledge. I am excited to see the advancements of my students in the areas of writing and reading comprehension.
