Small group teaching is the Literacy teaching method we use almost every week. We do Chinese guided reading and writing in the small group. Chinese literacy is closely related to Chinese characters. Because of the different literacy levels, Chinese literacy needs more differentiated teaching. In my classroom, the group I read with often sits on the floor and I use a small whiteboard to draw important content. If we can have a group table, and an easel, I believe children will have a better small group experience and can really benefit from small group teaching.
