My students have decided to create a stop motion club and are in need of some basic supplies. As we have already begun the process of making our stop motion videos, using multiple methods (claymation, pixelation, and the paper cut out method) supplies such as clay, extra paper, and markers/crayons/colored pencils will help greatly. My students have expressed their desire to have supplies that will help create characters that look like them. Since our school site only has the basic colors, I have been able to see how discouraged they are since they can’t make their creations resemble themselves. With the addition of these different colored clay, paint, etc. I know they will be even more excited to finish this project to show their peers. Many students are interested in sports and with the addition of outside games such as the football toss, they may feel more included in the activities planned. They have also expressed interest in creating videos of someone playing a specific type of sport for the project. The books included will aid in my ability to provide them with material that they will be excited to engage with. Since the class is primarily male, many of my current worksheets are not representative of them, such as the coloring pages. The tie dye kits are also for a project that some of my students have asked for recently. I think it is also important to provide them with rewards throughout the course of the semester.
