Students have been learning about our carbon footprint, environmental injustices, and the benefits that spending time in nature has on our health. We are super excited to grow our own fruits and vegetables to contribute to making healthier choices in what we eat and minimizing the negative impact on the environment. Our school garden is equipped with a worm house, and greenhouse and in those spaces students will learn about the usefulness of worms and the art of caring for tropical plants in an enclosed space. Our greenhouse is currently empty, but we'd love to fill it with tropical plants and have a thriving garden all year long. This is a hands on learning activity where students will learn life long skills. We will practice skills like team work, collaboration, gardening skills, and communication skills.
