Unfortunately, I cannot give every one of my students the front-row seats. Some of my students like to sit on the floor to be closer to the screen and to avoid hard plastic chairs. Those that sit in the back seem the least engaged and complain of not being able to see. A basic necessity for a civics class is a U.S. map and an American flag both of which my classroom does not have.
With the projector, they will be able to follow along and learn from the back of the class. They currently struggle to see due to the arrangement of my classroom and the television's small screen. The projector will help take care of that issue. For my students sitting on the floor, bean bag chairs will take away from conventional seating arrangements but also still give them the choice to sit somewhere else other than the hard plastic chairs. The extension cord will help students who are not able to charge their computers at home, charge them at school as they do their classwork.
I know my students will appreciate the larger screen, the ability to sit in nonconventional seats, and to see a decorated room.
