Students need access to high-interest, culturally relevant books. Students face so many challenges in their preteen years. Social issue book clubs give students a chance to read and discuss books about kids their age, who are experiencing some of the same problems they face. Students are able to relate to the characters they read about and learn how to navigate these challenges the way the characters in their stories did. Book clubs give students a forum for discussing and relating to these characters. Let's get great books in the hands of students!
