Displaying lessons on a large classroom whiteboard helps create a sense of shared group knowledge. Using a large dry erase board is something that is a daily need in my ELA classroom. Having the ability to project my lessons for students to engage with would be a game-changer. The whiteboard will allow me to see exactly what my students are thinking and understanding, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. Being able to have students come up to the front of the room and model sample responses and actively participate in writing lessons not using a computer is so very important for student development, especially after being virtual for the last year. The whiteboard can also be used for LCD projection as well as a magnetic board which makes this a multi-functional essential classroom tool for an ELA classroom. By donating to my classroom project, you are helping to improve and increase, not only, academic achievement but also engagement for all students. Having students get up and walk up to a whiteboard also increases alertness and additionally, encourages the focusing of the middle school brain and strengthens their ability to focus.
