My students are in an ELA class a grade level above their own. We have a bleak, empty room with simple black plastic chairs. Having been pulled out of their large classes has made them feel singled out or alienated. Instead of being left out, they should be feeling proud of their accomplishments and growth. These supplies will provide a safe, inviting, and comfortable room for my students to walk into. These items, like bean bags for flexible seating and laptop rests, were asked for specifically by my students who said they would like the room to have more life in it. Fairy lights, markers, and fidget toys were picked to give my students a more creative and warm environment.
