Each year my classroom fills with brand new faces. However, one rule always remains. Everyone must laugh and smile at least once each day...and if you need a hug you ask for one. Not too hard when you are surrounded by 2nd graders! Each group of students is different and come from all walks of life. Many of my students are working on piecing together the world they live in as they gain exposure to the simple joys in life. Many of my students lack exposure to the beach, fine arts, and even the world outside of their neighborhoods. Exposure to the world around us is a key component to learning and success. I strive every day to bring new experiences to the classroom and fill the gaps students may be missing.
