These maps will be used in the classroom to help students visualize historical markers and geography to go along with our lesson. The maps will help those students who are perhaps more visual than others. There will be opportunities for kinesthetic learners who might need to get up and out of their desks to be able to see the map up close and personal. Maps can be the guide for learning history in this setting. I like to teach history through context and sometimes seeing the layout of the land can help with students understanding why certain decisions were or were not made. As we talk about American history, conversations can turn to political discussions about why certain laws were passed and why some were proposed but maybe not ratified.
