The products that I have selected will provide opportunities for my students to increase their fine motor skills while providing stimulus for their sensory needs in the classroom. Students will have opportunities to work alone or with other students which will help to develop their own sense of self and will help them learn to be a part of a community. Students will gain fine motor skills by manipulating sensory items to view on the light table or have their sensory and creative needs met by manipulating items in their own ways. Developing fine motor skills will help them with their self help abilities such as tying their shoes, holding a pencil to write, opening their own milk cartons, etc. Being able to take care of their own needs will lead to an increase in self confidence and give them an opportunity to help each other as they all learn at their own pace.
