After the COVID-19 pandemic, students everywhere have lost the motivation necessary to truly succeed in their academic endeavors. It has been a struggle these past five months to light a fire under their you-know-whats and encourage them to keep their eyes on the prize -"strive for 65!" (on the exam). Additionally, 100% of my students are living under the poverty line and are not lucky enough to be treated for their successes. I used to spend HUNDREDS of dollars on candy raffle rewards for these sweet scholars to give them motivation to study and work diligently to pass their English exam and graduate on time. From April-June, I would reward students for making the right decisions in my classroom, for achieving high grades, for following procedures, for going above and beyond, and more. Having this candy would save me so much money (that I barely get paid in the first place)... I thank you in advance for considering a donation to PBIS project!
