With our own printer, we can have less down time and more time playing and singing. Currently the printers that are used for our program are in separate buildings from where we are located. This results in rehearsals being paused for new pieces to be printed and/or copied. I am blessed with an amazing group of students that have dedicated countless hours into the music department. I want to be able to return that dedication with providing the students with the required materials as soon as possible. In marching season, we could print anywhere from 1,000 -1,500 pages throughout the entire season. Concert season is a bit easier in the 500 - 1,000 copies area. This results in a lot of added up “down time” for my musicians. With our own business workhorse of a printer we could take all of that extra time and turn it into progressing even further in our music education. The aforementioned number of pages is only for the high school band. I need even more for my elementary music, and my vocal students. Most times I have to wait until after school to make copies or to retrieve my prints, with a printer located directly in the band room I could have instant copies for that inevitable moment that will come up.
