For our reading and literacy experiences we read short stories in our textbook, as well as online articles. I chose to add a full novel into the mix and they loved it. Reading and studying novels is a component I would like to add to my literacy rotation. My classroom library lacks texts for older elementary students. Not only can I use these books for a class set but I can also use them for guided reading, and personal reading choices. My students would be so appreciative of these books. They thoroughly enjoy reading novels and I would love to give them the gift of books.
