I have asked for paint and batteries for my STEAM course. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Every child in our school comes to STEAM once or twice each week for 45 minutes. In STEAM we focus on combining these subjects into meaningful projects that allow our students to collaborate with each other while using creative problem solving techniques. The students are presented with a "problem" and they use the engineering design process to explore, sketch, build, create, modify, and test their ideas until they come up with a successful solution. The batteries and paint are necessary supplies to supplement the various projects that we encounter in STEAM; however, we don't always have funding for these products.
