I teach kindergarten-2nd grade students who are all on the Autism spectrum and can have difficulty identifying and expressing their feelings. Most of the meltdowns come from a lack of self-regulation skills. We found a song about A Scribble Spot and spotting our feelings. The students really took to this idea and we found a curriculum with hands-on activities that will help us with even more emotions; going beyond happy, sad, frustrated, etc. My kids need to be taught this since it doesn't come naturally for them. Consistency is key and this song alone has made an impact. I can't wait to see what the curriculum will do for them as well!
