My students have been working on bettering their writing skills to write short children's books by the end of the year. Our goal as a class is to each write a short children's book and be able to read them to the Pre-K and Kinder classrooms at our campus. Studies show that reading aloud with children is the single most important activity for building knowledge and skills they will eventually require for learning to read. In order to strengthen their skills they are constantly reading on their free time and writing short stories with illustrations. We would love to expand our classroom library to have more amazing books available for the students to read.
