Covid was hard on every student but for my students with severe disabilities, it truly took a huge toll on their educational needs. They need a lot of visual and hands on skills that unfortunately are almost impossible to implement virtual. We offer life skills to our students that need those important skills to function in a world that seems to be ever changing. Teaching is my purpose in life and my students make me proud to be their teacher. I teach severe and profound special education students. They are incredible students who have their own individual strengths that I try to encourage and support. These supplies give my students the opportunity to learn to sew on a button, listen with headphones to directions, use a camera for our media class, and of course sharpen our pencils and minds. When students have supplies in the classroom they are not worried about having to bring their own supplies from home or having to share with others in the classroom. Supplies in my class are extremely limited. These supplies will help with students' success. Being able to have all items requested will ensure students have some of the things needed to get through life with the skills they need.
