My students struggle with the reading required in high school. Due to their low reading levels, titles like Romeo and Juliet and The Odyssey overwhelm them. Providing them with graphic versions of these classics will help my students picture the scenes while introducing them to fine literature. The vibrant colors and illustrations in graphic novels appeal to teens. These students have unique learning requirements. The graphic novels will spark their imaginations and help them learn to love reading. These students sincerely want to learn and worry that they cannot keep up. Please help them read for success.
