Dial calipers are used to make precise measurements of objects. These dial calipers will be used to measure physical objects that can then be created in CAD software. Once it is in CAD software, students will then be able to dimension them with exact proportions and print them on 3-D printers or use a laser cutter to print them on wood. We will be using the dial calipers with connecting blocks to build 3-D puzzles out of wood and with the 3-D printers. They will also use dial calipers to help measure pieces for a skimmer. Once they have precise measurements and have done a trial run, they can once again use dial calipers to make adjustments to pieces to better their distance. Thank you for your assistance in helping our students experience something unique!
