Headphones are a necessary technology for students with learning disabilities. Unfortunately, good headphones are more expensive than most schools can afford. My students not only have issues with reading and comprehending what they are reading, but get easily distracted when they hear noises going on around them. With these noise-cancelling headphones, my students will be able to concentrate better on their work, listen to the words they are reading, and be able to do speech-to-text for giving more accurate answers. Students will be able to use these headphones for their district and state tests as well, based on their IEP accomodations. Students often feel harshly judged by their peers when they can't afford the newest or best technology. With these headphones, my students, whose parents are already being "rockstars" with struggling to give their students what they can, can have one less thing to be judged about. I picked headphones that are functional, "cool looking", and financially appropriate.
