Over the years I have been teaching, I have always tried to supply some kids with the materials they will need for my class. There are always the kids whose parents can not afford these items, so I try to keep them on hand for such occasions. It does embarrass some kids to ask to borrow or have some supplies. The resources I have requested are to help any of my students who need to use a calculator or need a new notebook. If I have an entire shelf dedicated for notebooks, my students can take one if needed; it does help. I always keep my extra calculators on my desk, for anyone to use also, so this class set of scientific calculators will be fantastic for my students to use.
