My students lost a lot of learning time last year. The learning loss has been substantial. We have a lot of work to do to remedy the situation. I want to create a cozy and comfy reading area for them to enjoy and to develop a love of reading. I have bought many books myself and now I need help creating a space that is comfortable, exciting, and enticing for my students with bookshelves. We need to foster a love of reading in every child. I would love to help my students read fluently and improve their reading comprehension. We have been working extra hard during school hours. In addition, my students need varied and differentiated reading intervention. I have various groups, based on their reading levels, for small group instruction before and after school hours to help with learning loss. Reading has been shown to help a child's listening skills, improve their vocabulary, and it will help expand English language and academic vocabulary skills. Reading also improves a child's attention span and creativity. I would be most appreciative if you could help me create a little space of their own to foster a lifelong love of reading and learning. Thank you.
