Each year, I struggle with getting my students engaged in reading. Most of them like to read, they just haven't found the right book to read. Because of this, my students tend to ignore the library altogether. The books I have selected will help my students make a great connection to reading, and the bookcase and floor rocker chair will help my students to enjoy these new books in our classroom. I try to encourage my students to find not only their mirror books but to sample window books as well. Most students only read mirror books that they can relate to. I want to provide my students with not only mirror books, but window books that help them to widen their experiences in literature. These types of books will help them to explore and learn about other cultures as well as help them escape into wonderful and wild adventures.
